Kris is a self-taught artist originally from post-communist Slovakia, now living and creating in Sydney, Australia.

With a background in business and a successful role in the family’s flooring business company, her creative spirit has always found ways to surface - first through home and garden design, and now through abstract visual art.

Kris is a self-taught abstract artist originally from post-communist Slovakia, now living and creating in Sydney, Australia.

With a background in business and many years working within her family’s flooring company, she developed a strong connection to materials, interiors and the way art can transform a space. Creativity has always been part of her life, eventually finding its strongest expression through abstract painting.

Her work is driven by instinct, movement and layered mark-making, combining texture, colour and raw surface to explore the traces left by time and experience. Through her work, Kris reflects on change, resilience, ageing and the freedom that comes with becoming more comfortable in one’s own skin.

My work is an exploration of transformation, resilience and the quiet beauty that remains.

Each piece is a reflection of what time leaves behind - and what continues to grow.

Through layers of natural pigments, sand, rust, gold and paint. I create works that carry the weight of time and the light of renewal.

My work is defined by bold textures, organic forms, and a dynamic use of color. Drawing inspiration from everyday moments, natural elements, and inner emotions. I see art as both a personal sanctuary and a space for exploration.

My pieces are an invitation to pause, feel, and reflect - born from the courage to let go of control and follow instinct.

For me, each work is a step toward pushing boundaries, breaking expectations, and discovering something new - not just on the canvas, but within.
